UG Project: Modal characterization of composite panels made of natural fibres

Completed studying Aerospace Systems Engineering with Pilot Studies (BEng) at University of Hertfordshire with an enduring passion for Engineering and Piloting.
I see myself as a result driven individual equipped with good interpersonal skills and competent through my academic experience. During my present course of study, I have learnt core modules such as Aerothermodynamics, Aircraft Systems & Systems Integration, Avionics Systems, Aerospace Materials & Electrical Science, Stability & Control of Aircraft, Pilot Studies & Flight Analysis, Aerospace Performance, Propulsion & Design. In addition to my academic experience I have shown skills such as leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, and developed the ability to work under pressure to achieve determined goals.

My final year project is titled as Modal characterization of composite panels made of natural fibres.  The project was focused on manufacturing flax-hemp composites, testing by Tensile Test, Three-Point Bending Test, Short Beam Shear Test, Dynamic Mechanical Analysis and Impact Test. Furthermore, mechanical and vibration properties was analysed followed by Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) based on ANSYS software.

MSc Project: Design a Test Rig for Compound Gear Trains

My project will help in understanding the mechanism of gear and motor. The aim of the project is to design and optimise the gear rig and evaluate an appropriate power from the motor to lift an identical mass. The typical gear rig with compound gears is made and tests are conducted on that, the conducted experiments are discussed to tell the primary mechanism of gear trains and power transmission by gears. Experiment on “compound gear train test rig” with varying loads lead to getting the values for voltage, current, Toque and velocity. From these value, power is calculated and compared with theoretically calculated power value. Finally, the power losses in the rig and the efficiency performance are discussed.

MSc Project: Design a hybrid shaft for a micro-turbine combined heat and power

I am an MSc Automotive Engineering student who is passionate about using research, design and development to create ideas and products that improve the quality of human life while sustaining the environment. I have worked on several university design projects over the years including a low-cost Regenerative Braking System and ReFil which recycles plastic to make FDM printer filament. I am also former Team Leader of Team Striderz Racing at BAJA SAE India.

UG Project: To design a range extender for an electric car

The range extender is currently seen in just a small selection of electric vehicles; however, it is in the form of petrol or diesel engines which again create emissions and pollute the atmosphere. Micro gas turbines are the ideal type of engine for the range extender, they are efficient, lighter than the current engines and most important of all to the customers of electric vehicles, create exceptionally low emissions and significantly increase the range. The overall objective of my project was to investigate if the micro gas turbine works as well as a range extender for an electric vehicle.

UG Project: Ignition control system of a micro-combined heat and power boiler

With great interest and passion for learning Electronics and Computer Engineering, achieved a first-class final year project. Seeking apprenticeship, a challenging and rewarding opportunity within the engineering industry to develop knowledge using my acquired skills gained in the university and past work experiences.

MSc project: Design of passive and active suspension system using quarter and full car model

The main purpose of this project is to design a suspension system to give good ride comfort and road handling to occupants of the vehicle. This project aimed to design an optimum active suspension system with the help of the quarter car and full car models. The design process required the optimization of spring stiffnesses, damping coefficients and actuator PID controller gains. The Genetic Algorithm technique is used in this study for the optimization task to obtain a balanced response of the vehicle as evaluated from the displacement, velocity and acceleration of sprung and un-sprung masses. The proposed approach proved to be extremely effective in obtaining the optimum parameters for the suspension system to fulfil a rather conflicting criteria of rider comfort and road handling.

MSc project: Design smart bionic graspers

My project reviewed existing passive bionic graspers and tries to design a specific smart glove. The design then simulated and tested against different working conditions. The results showed that the supporting pad was robust enough when dropped down from 1.5 meters height, while the hinge which connecting the finger straps would need further improvement to avoid failure during its practical loading. The outcome of this project has been published here: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.09.28.316778v1

UG project: Human powered charging system

I have graduated in BEng Mechanical Engineering. As for my final year project, I have created an energy harvesting device. I have successfully built the prototype after soo many tries and lot of modifications. I have graduated with an overall of 2.1.  The university has taught me well, it also helped me grow up learning from my mistakes. I have decided I would pursue my master's course in the same university. Overall I can say I am fully satisfied with teaching and learning facilities and I am looking forward to start my Master's course.
